When you arrive in the Devildom and try to get to know him, Leviathan's immediately suspicious of you and even more skeptical of your bold declarations. He has a hard time believing you really like gaming. He assumes you’re just trying to sound like you do to get close to him, for some foolish reason.

He hates to admit how much more interesting you are when you manage to actually convince him that it's a genuine hobby of yours.

When Levi shows you his room, you're amazed and he feels a sense of pride, like his hobbies are validated by someone that understands him. He pretends not to stare at you while you slowly browse the shelves of games and collectibles in his room.

You notice he plays a Devildom MMO game, and you're instantly curious about it. Levi didn’t think you’d be into those types of games - they require a lot of time and effort.

He thinks that maybe, just maybe, you’re not such a boring normie human after all.

You ask him if you can watch him play the game, and you point out similarities and differences when you compare it to the human world MMO you played before.

When you're both called to dinner, it interrupts your conversation about Levi's guild. You tell him funny stories from your previous gaming guild, and he's finally convinced that your interest is legit.

Levi decides to do something nice to help you out - a test to see how serious you really are. He won't give you another chance if you blow this one.

He might happen to have a spare laptop you can use, and he offers to lend it to you. If the game is already installed and ready to play, Levi's just trying to be nice and do the boring installation stuff for you. And if Levi sends you a Recruit-A-Friend invitation to set up your own account, it's because he gets perks from it - he really doesn't care if you play or not.

Levi even goes as far as adding his payment info to your new account to pay the subscription fee. He doesn't have the patience to wait for you to borrow someone else's credit card. "You can pay me back later,” he tells you, even though he has no intention of ever asking for the money back.

You might know how to play an MMO, but he believes he's still got loads to show you about this one. His desk is a bit cramped, and it’s inconvenient dragging the laptop back and forth between your room and his.

He offers to lend you a spare headset - one that’s brand new and still in its packaging from today's Akuzon delivery - so you can use voice comms together, and he can stream his screen to yours while he talks to you directly. Isn't that convenient?

He's already set up a private voice comms server just for the two of you - don't tell his brothers about it though, okay? It's only for the two of you.

When Levi creates a new character to play with yours, he says it's easier than trying to show you things on his maxed-out character.

He chooses to level a tank class to protect your squishy glass cannon character, and he reminds you that he's doing you a favour and saving you from so many unnecessary deaths. If he happens to show off along the way, who could blame him? He's really good at this game, and if you try hard enough, maybe you can be too.

He raids the game's most difficult content with his guild at night. For some reason, he really wants you to watch him play. He doesn't want you to level your character without him, either. (He won't ask you not to, but he secretly hopes you don't.)

You mention that one of his guildmates, someone that doesn't raid, offered to play some low level dungeons with you while Levi's busy. For some reason that upsets him, but he doesn't know why.

Levi's half-focused on his raid while he occasionally checks your character status. He absolutely does not keep track of how long you're in the same dungeon as his guildmate. And he definitely isn't checking whether you're in a separate voice channel together.

By the time his raid is over, you've already sent him a message wishing him good luck and goodnight. He's a bit disappointed that you went to bed so early (even though its well past midnight).

He sees another message from before that, when you told him about a cute pet you found in the game (it's a reward anyone can get from doing a simple quest, it shouldn't be that exciting). You mention offhand that you like collecting pets and you might try to find some more tomorrow.

Levi acts like it's not a big deal when you log in and discover he's sent your character dozens of new pets for your collection. He shrugs and claims he had duplicates that he had no use for. (They weren't, he bought them all specially for you, but he won't admit it.)

By the time you hit max level with your character, Levi's bought you expensive crafted gear and he's planning on getting you the other items you need so you can try raiding with him his guild.

Sometimes he thinks of your character as his own virtual Henry - and spending so much time together means he starts to think about you as his Henry outside the game, too.

What Levi doesn't realize is how genuinely happy you are that he's given you a chance. He was so defensive and secretive about his hobbies, and you hoped having a shared common interest would make it easier for you to make friends in this strange place.

You wanted to prove that unlike his brothers, you understand why gaming and anime gives him so much joy. You don't think it's a waste of time or money, and you can appreciate the hard work he puts into those hobbies even if no one else does.

And you knew he was skeptical of you at first, but things are so much different now. He's not calling you a stupid wannabe human otaku anymore, and he encourages you and helps you like a friend would.

You used to ask Levi if he wanted to play with you - but now, he's asking if you want to play with him, and you know that means he likes you, in his own way.

Sure, it might be weird playing a game with someone in different rooms of the same house, using voice comms to talk to each to each other because it's easier than typing everything. It's definitely easier than having to drag your laptop around, and that's what he tells his brothers when they comment about how weird it is living with two nerds instead of one.

One thing you notice about Levi is that he's more confident behind his screen. He doesn't stutter or get shy the way he does if you try to talk to him in person, but you're socially awkward sometimes too so it doesn't bother you.

The truth is, he notices that you're more talkative over voice comms with him too. You're not afraid to ask him silly noob questions anymore, and he doesn't call you a noob now even if you do.

Levi realizes that there's something very intimate about having your voice in his ear when you're on comms together. It makes him feel things because this is something you only do with him and not with his brothers.

You're friendly with his brothers, sure - but you never sound this happy except when you're spending time with Levi. It's not even limited to gaming anymore - you get excited talking about the new anime series he invites you to watch with him, or the manga you ask to borrow.

When you mention you like to read, he lends you his copies of the TSL novels. If there's other books or movies you want, he buys them for you so you don't have to ask his brothers for anything.

He thinks that he's the only one to see your true, authentic self. He likes you now, and he doesn't want to share.

The first night you join him for a guild raid, Levi notices that you're not nearly as talkative with the larger group of players present. When you do speak, you're so quiet. He hasn't heard you sound this small since you first arrived in the Devildom.

When you're alone again after the guild raid ends, you thank him for inviting you and tell him how much fun it was. You sound more like yourself again, and even though Levi didn't expect you to be so shy around his friends - well, part of him likes keeping this version of you for himself.

He can't help feeling just a bit selfish. He likes the way you laugh openly at his jokes or the way you tease him (or yourself). When you're gaming together, you gasp loudly if something surprises you, or you groan if you do something silly that gets one of you (or both of you) killed. Normally those types of things would annoy him, but with you, it's fun.

Your relationship with Levi changes, and grows, and maybe you underestimate how much of an impact you've had on him. You don't mention when things between you start to shift towards something more than friends, and neither does he.

His brothers know there's something going on between you. You blow off their invitations if it interferes with plans you already have with Levi. They start to make subtle hints and jokes about Levi and you and dating, and Levi scoffs loudly and slams the door when he stalks off to his room.

You're not dating him, you're just friends. Sometimes he thinks about you in ways that aren't strictly platonic, but his denial still runs deep.

So what if Levi starts recording your conversations so he can listen to your voice when he has trouble sleeping? He doesn't feel bad because it's not hurting anyone.

When you play together late at night, your voice is softer, quieter and breathier. Maybe you're just trying to be considerate of everyone in the house trying to sleep, but the reason doesn't matter. It's like you're whispering in his ear and it sends his mind spiraling.

When he gets hard listening to the sound of your voice telling him how amazing he is, or how lucky you are that you met him, it doesn't mean anything.

It's a harmless little secret. You're his friend, his Henry.

You might not realize it, and he might not admit it, but you've lured him in - and he won't let you go.

Salty i wanna get into Baki which one do you recommend,the manga or the anime?

Oh you just woke up the fucking beast (I'm so sorry).

I LOVE this question, and as a recent Baki fan myself, I can tell you that getting into the series as a Western consumer can be rough if you don’t have a basic guide to know what you’re getting into…. so that’s what I’m gonna make this post (TEEHEE).

This series has gotta be one of the most insane shonen- actually no- one of the most INSANE PIECES OF FICTION I've ever experienced, and I NEED more people to check it out. Like, LOOK AT THIS SHIT DUDE.

Baki out of context somehow even puts Jojo's Bizarre Adventure to shame. The way I usually pitch it to people is that Baki is as insane as people THINK Jojo is before they read it. Shit is just... MAN LMAO. OBAMA IS FUCKING IN THIS.

Unlike more popular stuff like Dragon Ball and Hunter x Hunter, a lot of this series has just never been officially localized, so knowing where to start, and even how to support the series, is a hard task if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Thankfully THAT’S WHAT YOU HAVE ME FOR. This Tumblr post is gonna be your one stop shop for how to get into Baki as an English speaker (and it’ll give me some space to ramble about one of my latest favorite series).

But uh before we get into the nitty gritty, wanna put some trigger warnings for the series for those who may want to know. Listen, I know how some of these are gonna look to the average person, but this series just be like that sometimes, if you can’t take stuff like this trust me it’s insanely valid. You’ll understand if you choose to take the plunge.

SERIES TRIGGER WARNINGS:

Animated Blood/Violence, some animated gory imagery, Incest (???), Nudity, Urine stuff, Bigfoot/Animal Violence, Death, Uncomfortable looking muscles, and one instance of sexual violence (offscreen)

If you are comfortable with all that (and again, valid as fuck if you aren’t) then let’s talk BAKI!

First off, Manga or Anime?

You would think that either would be fine, but my personal recommendation for Baki as a beginner, is to watch the anime over reading the manga. Simply put: The anime is a lot more widely available and accessible in English speaking territories, and is fairly easy to support officially with its current iteration.

For whatever reason, the manga just never really took off in the West when compared to other series, so it was only ever officially released in English a handful of times, and they only ended up publishing the first few volumes. Theoretically, you can read the first few books to start, but the entire series all together is legit longer than One Piece at a whopping 1,203 chapters, so you are gonna run out of material real quick. The fraction of officially available manga barely scratches the surface of the series.

Even if you’re stubborn about reading the manga and want to try reading fan translations, they come with their own separate batch of issues. Plenty of fan scans you can find online range from wildly outdated, to generally being poor quality at best. There’s even some fan translations that just straight up make shit up and don’t even properly translate the original script. Adding in extra dialogue and slurs randomly to make the text seem way edgier than it actually is.

Full disclosure, I wanna cut through my bias here and say that there are indeed some great scans available on the internet if you look hard enough, especially for the more recent content! But they aren’t super easy to track down with how the series is formatted, and you may accidentally find yourself reading the story out of its proper order.

The watch/read order of Baki is a bit of a toughie for new people, but is actually pretty simple once it’s explained. The story of Baki is split up into multiple different series, kind of similar in format to Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Though instead of “Parts”, Baki is split up into completely different manga and TV series. This is why many fans get confused initially, especially with the watch order, because it isn’t laid out in an easy to understand way at first glance.

The most well known series are currently streaming on Netflix, but those aren’t the ones you wanna start with. Nope, the story of the Baki anime actually starts way back in 2001, in a TV show that isn’t streaming officially online. Now if you want to watch out of order, I’m not gonna stop you. You can do whatever you want, by all means, but you’re gonna be missing some VERY important story context, and some characters just won’t hold the same weight.

So if you DO want to watch in order, come with me my friend. Let me show you-

BAKI’S SUPER COOL AND NOT AT ALL CONFUSING WATCH ORDER:

Baki the Grappler (2001) (24 episodes)

This is the original 2001 anime adaptation, the very start of serialized Baki anime. You’re gonna wanna start here trust me.

This series isn’t streaming anywhere officially online, but you can find it… places. Seek it out, trust me, because otherwise you’re gonna pay way too much for out of print DVDs on Ebay. Thankfully though you have options! The series is both subbed and dubbed (as well as every series I discuss from this point forward.

This show is the very start of serialized Baki anime, the very beginning of Baki Hanma’s story. Although it’s not in the way you may think. Despite this being the earliest point in the Baki timeline, it’s actually an adaptation of a later story arc from the manga.

Now I know what you’re thinking, “Didn’t you just say this is where I should start? Why is it adapting something from later in the story?”, and yeah it’s valid to be confused. While yes this is the first ever Baki anime, for some reason the staff behind it made the decision to move this later arc up a bit from the original manga. In my honest opinion, I feel like this is actually a great decision.

As you will see as you watch, this honestly FEELS like this should be where the story begins. The escalation of power and storytelling from this point onward feels very natural, and you won’t miss out on anything or spoil yourself whatsoever on later events.

This is the de facto best starting point.

Grappler Baki Maximum Tournament (2001) (24 episodes)

This is effectively the second season of Baki the Grappler. For whatever reason they decided to title it something else, and while this is the norm for the series later on, this name change is weird because it adapts an arc from the original manga just like the first season of anime I just talked about.

Whatever lol.

Anyway this series, much like the previous, isn’t officially available as of now. So your best option is to SEARCH for it. SEARCH on the INTERNET. Or y’know. The good ol’ expensive out of print DVD on Ebay route.

In my opinion, compared to the first season, this one feels a bit slower paced and a bit of a slog at points but HOLD STRONG TRUE BELIEVER. This season is the introduction to a lot of mainstay characters in the series. Many of which you will come to love, even if you don’t know it yet.

BAKI (2018) (39 episodes) (NETFLIX)

This is the modern adaptation of Baki. After the last series ended in 2001, the anime went on hiatus for 17 years before it was announced that it would be coming back with a modern coat of paint.

Contrary to what you may think, this isn’t a ground up reboot. It’s a continuation of the exact point they left off years ago, right after the Maximum tournament. The only thing that kind of sucks about this is that, at least for the English dub, they replaced most of the voice cast. Most of the new VAs do a great job, however you may need to get used to Yujiro Hanma having Shadow the Hedgehog’s modern VA from the games haha.

Thankfully, you can officially support this series easily via Netflix. Normally I’m pretty eh on Netflix as of late, but this being the only way you can support the show officially in the west, I personally recommend it.

Baki Hanma (2023) (39 episodes) (NETFLIX)

This is the most recent anime! It’s also on Netflix.

Anyway, this is my list! If after you catch up you wanna hop into the manga and read the fan scans, I’ve heard that you can start on Baki Hanma/Baki Son of Ogre (chapter 183).

Winx Season 9/Reboot Leaks

Okay here's the tea: earlier today a twitter user by the name of Cataclysm_Power started posting a video they claimed was from the new Winx season/reboot. When pressed for further information, they linked to a telegram chat with what appeared to be assets from Rainbow (17 screenshots/2 videos). After some C-grade internet sleuthing, I am here to give my (worthless and possibly wrong) opinion on which ones I think are real and fake.

A note before we jump in: I'm not posting full images on my blog, because again I do think some of these are real and if the leaker is to be believed, they hacked Rainbow to get them. You can look yourself through the telegram link, or others who've posted them on the Winx Club tag. I also think the leaker themselves is scammy because they've tried charging for Miraculous leaks before. Do NOT give them any money if they ask.

Real: Bloom, Stella, and Icy's asset sheets, Bloom Full Body Pose

A lot of these leaks are 3d modelling assets, and these 3 are the ones I'm totally convinced are real.

The biggest clue of their validity is the bottom banner. All 3 sheets have them, along with the same episode code and notes in Italian. They're all also linked to the same person: Pasqualino Masciulli is Rainbow's 3D modelling supervisor, and has been with the company for at least 9 years. He's done videos on Rainbow's youtube channel as well, using his shortened first name Lino. My main point is that's way too niche for someone to fake just to make some convincing leaks, and it would make sense for the assets to be tied to him.

Likewise, there's a full-body frame post of Bloom with fucking ugliest denim leg warmers credited to a g.riccobono. This is likely Giulio Riccobono, who is listed on Linkedin Italy as a Rainbow employee.

Probably Real: Tecna's asset sheet, Bloom's detailed asset sheet

Both of these are likely real but have weird things about them that make me pause. Bloom's more detailed asset sheet is missing the name, date and episode reference on it, and the notes are in English. Tecna's is missing the bottom banner entirely, and there's some weird cutting around her head that makes it look like someone hastily made a png and stuck it on there.

Unsure: Computer File Tab, MD Concept Photos, Videos

There's a screenshot of a folder with both 2D and 3D assets of all the girls. in the files. I'm not sure if this is from a computer at Rainbow or the hacker's personal folder, so it goes in unsure. I do think most of the assets in it are real - it's low res but the eyes on the 2D sketches are so similar to the ones on Rainbow's newer images of the girls I think they have to be connected.

There are also some full body concept photos for Bloom, Aisha, and Stella. They all look pretty legit (as they're updated version of images we've already seen) but Stella's has other images for 'possible pallets' included. She's the only one with it and the images look like they came from a flash dress-up game, and it gives me pause.

Lastly, the teaser videos of Bloom are probably real based on the outfit, animation and that stupid fucking Bloom shelf being in the background, but I'm placing it in 'unsure' because of the bandicam.com logo burned into the top. If it really came from Rainbow and everything else was downloaded, there was no reason for the hacker to not get the raw file. I think it's real, but I don't know if it came from Rainbow.

Something Ain't Right: Group Shot

What gives me pause in the fully-rendered group shot (even though its shown in the computer file tab) is it shows transformation we haven't seen teased and has a 'Lorem Ipsum' placeholder text. Aisha's hair also looks like it was done with AI - the back of her wings clip through the hair, and parts of it look copy-pasted. I'm stupid, it's the end of her braids. The 'Lorem Ipsum' thing still stands, but I'm re-filing this under 'unsure.'

Probably Fake: Darcy and Damien's asset sheets

I'm showing things from here on out because I'm so convinced it's fake please let me be right. Unlike the other character sheets, the ones for Darcy and 'new character' Damien have no bottom banner, are marked as 'Winx Club Season 9' with an outdated Winx logo, and have notes written completely in English. Darcy's has a bit of 3D modelling, but it's too different from Icy's. Maybe they're super early concepts for Darcy, but Damien...go home, buddy.

You're in the Wrong Place: Rainbow Pants Girl

I'm convinced this girl is from a different show and was saved to the 'Winx Club' folder by accident. Different clothing, hair, and shading. May you end up somewhere better than this reboot, Mystery Girl.

Okay I now legit believe that MHA's ending broke some people's brains. Like how you gonna come out and say just because a teenage couple from a shounen series didn't end up together, its the worst thing to ever happen? How does that even connect to the birth rates in Japan? I've never seen such a reaction happen about a shounen series' ending before. And many shounen series also dont have any romance or marriage/kids ending btw. I feel like people are losing their minds over MHA's ending because they didnt get that heterosexual ending validation that they thought they would get.

It’s funny cuz if this were any other series, I honestly don’t think dudebros would care nearly as much. There’s so many recent shonen where the hetero pairing didn’t end up together romantically, and literally no one cared minus the small group of people who genuinely see the MC not getting the girl at the end, as a loss like the Erased fandom.

I think the only reason they care so much is the same reason they were happy when Katsuki died. They just wanted to prove bkdk shippers wrong. I don’t even think they really care about Izuocha, I think they only wanted them to happen so that they could have solid evidence that Izuku wasn’t into Katsuki. And they ended up being wrong and they’re coping really hard about it.

There’s a piece of the fandom who genuinely think Izuocha was confirmed and I’ve seen so many videos that say something along the lines of “me watching bkdks cry cuz izuku and Ochaco are official now blah blah blah” even though that never happened??? Are the crying bkdks in the room with us? And then the theory of Katsuki being with ochaco now because he stood next to her, which is CRAZY hypocrisy considering how many jokes that same part of the fandom made about us “shipping two people for standing next to each other.”

They’re literally just upset that they lost the imaginary competition they came up with in their minds and are looking for ways to find that validation that Hori didn’t give them. Like, you can tell that they don’t even like/didn’t pay attention to the series anyway because these are the same guys who make the “all for nothing” and fast food worker Izuku jokes. They were literally just obsessed with bkdk cuz they saw the same thing we did but felt threatened by them potentially happening so they grabbed at whatever straws they could and just blame the queer part of the fandom for everything. It’s kind of sad tbh.

on my rants there were quite a few people who actually said they like the game but agree with alot of my views on it regardless, it is very flawed but i can also see that the good things outweigh the bad stuff for others, even if i legitimately hate it; but i also had to block multiple people bc they got so butthurt about me criticising it

and i dont think its 100% just an opinion thing either, totk, even when i disregard my personal feelings on the matter, has alot of problems, moreso than the other zeldas (each judged for how it was in their time) and in pretty much every part of the game too (story, lore, continuity, gameplay and rewards, UI-) and i think alot of it stems from its conception, they have never done a true direct sequel before and it came from a DLC idea, and it shows (though i still believe even coming from that you could have done something way better..... bc they also made botw, which seemed to prepare fertile ground for more storytelling that was all discarded for NO reason)

Not going to lie, it is a hard question.. I just like or at least accept everything in these games? There ARE some "would have been more fun/deep/interesting" moments on my end, but canon decision is never BAD in my eyes! But my mind is legit blank in terms of "getting mad"! (Unless you meant mad as in, madness and not as in, anger?)

The closest to being angry I've gotten was the thing about Radahn as Miquella's consort! And, no, it is not about hassle of some Malenia-hating Redditors "getting validated 😥" or #shouldhavebeengodwyn thing! The story is NOT concerned by petty fandom infighting and its perception should not be dependent on it! And Godwyn was ALREADY in love with Fortissax! When he wasn't, he was getting so gay with his Knights that they straight up rebranded into Death Knights instead of complaining about something-something against the order! He was TAKEN!!! Cope and SEATH! xD /hs

It is... hard to explain, but it felt like a wasted concept! I realized that I'd prefer Miquella of all characters to not have a pair in canon. The God that wants to embrace everyone and love everyone should not pick a favourite. He is not ALLOWED to pick a favourite! Conceptually! It appears that Greater Will set up a standard for anyone who wants to shape the laws of nature to have a pair, right? Placidusax was a partner of previous Elden Ring's owner, Marika had two consorts and Two Fingers sent you to be the third... Looks like the rule is unbreakable, right? Except for one character...

Ranni was set on walking her "dark path" to Godhood alone, and we had to do a bit of insisting to join her! So, all in all, Miquella needed a consort because he wanted a consort! Divinity is scary, and it must be even scarier in solitude, so, I understand! Like, I sure can't even tell the guy to "grow up" for AT LEAST two reasons hfhfjdjg

Heck, keep the whole plot about a vow and clinging to Radahn, just with the plot twist of him getting "enlightnment" that he should not embrace one above everyone else! I know that he discarded his love, not his promise. Well? Discard it NOW, then? He should not at least because Radahn would be his weapon? But he wants a world WITHOUT war and battles! I don't know, I just feel a strange type of jealousy I can't explain well... Having a fav doesn't fit his concept of divinity for me. In fact, it strains the vibe of being "embraced" by him because there is always this Third Guy just standing there (menacingly). What, he will force everyone to not just be friends, but also polyamorous now? I mean he might as welllol hfhggvfj Argh. Him not being able to overcome some weakness, fear, clinginess and bias in spite of all is not a BAD story, but it could have been better? Yet I still wonder whether I am right or my preferred idea is a boring cliché and I misunderstood Miyazaki's genius of subverting it! Nor I know why what I am feeling is def a type of jealousy. Oh nooo, has he charmed ME? LITTLE PRICK!!!

Here are a few other things that I am not as happy with, but nothing critical:

Fanart sabotage: Like not making it clear enough that the guy from Scholar of the First Sin cover that holds the crown is Aldia, not Vendrick! He misses Vendrick's trademark braids (that were present even in his youth, mind you!) and has wizardy aesthetic instead of Vendrick's warrior one! Or making the idea of the statue behind Memory Altar in Bloodborne being Caryll easily skippable because this asset is also used literally everywhere in Chalice Dungeons! Or not placing Gold Pendant on the bearded guy's statue in Research Hall, so one has to admit Laurence had a beautiful beard gfhhfj Little things like this, that guaranteed absence of some cool fanart rooted in the source material! Not lore but Fromsoft's way to present things, but still!

Skipping what Demigods Vyke and Bernahl fought: I love, love, LOVE the way Miyazaki deliberately removes some pieces of the puzzle from the story that IS full in his head, to imitate his childhood experience of reading foreign books but not knowing many words! It is an interesting approach, allowing people to fill the gaps with their own imagination! But in THIS case particularly, I didn't like it. 🤔 This is a bit TOO important to miss out on. Like, bro... there were 4 deceased Shardbearers nothing and no one ever mentioned! The whole lore acts as if they never existed! They erased this part of lore so hard it ripped a HOLE in the page!

Creighton reappearing in DS3: I do not dislike what the writers ended up doing to him, but.. at the DS2 time, there was a room to speculate that Creighton was not the unhinged murderer he appeared as! But instead, a trope of a guy who just has negative charisma and SPEAKS like a serial killer! And that maybe Pate actually framed him or something like that! Creighton's lore was kind of vague in DS2! Creighton doesn't even have Mirrah accent, ffs! You know who does though? Pate! Buuuuuut, in DS3, they just straight up confirmed that yeah, he just likes killing. There is no mystery or complexity to him now, he is JUST like that. Sure, why not, but also why? ;-;

Gnarrl being patched out: Keeping the concept of Dragonic Sentinel to a unique character was a way cooler idea! Even if they just could not come up with a better boss to gatekeep Leyendell/Death, at least keep his name as someone who started the trend and others followed!

Characters disappearing: Again, not really a lore thing, but a presentation thing! But I am talking things like, missing out that the "female archer" in the woods in Dark Souls 1 IS Pharis herself, or that there is a stated female character Knight Amerix amongst the Forest covenant! Why people need to look through Japanese guide to know this info? Or missing the fact that Queen of Lothric is not Gwynevere? (Granted, this is a fault of English localization...) I'll dig out every single obscure gremlin from under the ground!!! Don't fuck with me!!!!!

Priscilla being discarded at birth: I can't criticize this idea at all, it works for the story and as a perfect reflection of how society of Light worked! But I can FEEL mad about it! Gwyn spared a baby dragon (Midir) on condition of having them be of help, Gwyndolin is here, Yorshka is here despite also being half-dragon and also having connection with Lifehunt ability, so tell me why-

Tell me why ONE baby of Seath just straight up got abandoned? Based on what feature others never got? This is needlessly cruel! Like, yes, it works for what it does, but I still will strangle all of the characters involved in this decision! Granted, I gave it a bandaid of saying Seath and Caitha had Yorshka after Gwyn's death now that they were left together in grief, but it doesn't exempt Seath from Priscilla being ditched! Shira I think is also his daughter ("daughter of the duke", also has white hair in concept art and Sam hair as Yorshka in game) but she is doing fine! So, he just dislikes children who remind him of his mortality? What about Yorshka, then? Is she here because she formed as a dragon "differently"? Full disrespect to this cringe looser 🤦‍♂️

Hilde being dead: They've ruined perfect Moonrithyll x Hilde yuri is what they did. Literally the only Fire Knight to be dead and it had to be her. Why could not we have just fought her as a unique mob? :pensive:

One of the things I often hear amongst people who give out somewhat positive reviews for Hazbin/Helluva is "It has some mild flaws in its story and writing that those annoying critics are just blowing out of proportion." To some degree, I understand where they're coming from, but it makes me openly question: how flawed does a story's writing choices have to be until it's considered bad writing?

Is it when even if it's rushed and rough around the edges, is it still fun to watch? Is it when it's so distracting that you can't ignore it? At what point is it just watching a car crash in slow motion, rather than actually engaging with the story? I know you can only answer with your own thoughts as a fellow critic, so I want this to be more open for others to comment.

I agree with what you’re saying, to me this situation reminds me of how some of the Spindle crew reacted to criticism, mainly the “everyone is saying the same thing over and over!”- when….yeah, that’s for a reason, and maybe if critics and even FANS keep constantly saying the same feedback over and over, then how long does it take you to realize that maybe you should actually fix those problems within the show because that’s what the writing needs?

No one really wants to admit it but more and more fans are getting tired of the issues in Helluva, that’s why so many more critical videos keep popping up every day and more people are starting to get comfortable enough to talking about the issues it has on twitter. This is not only why the views are dropping, but why some fans are legit dropping the show because they’re tired of the story not improving or being more open minded all because of the writer’s stubbornness and ignorance. They try to say otherwise but they make it obvious that most of them have a hate boner for criticism, have no idea what it’s like being show runners/writers and lack thick skin.

I’ve seen so many fans and even the creators demonize the criticism by stating “more people need to learn to just enjoy media without being overly critical of every little thing!” And in some cases, yeah…that’s valid, obviously if you’re just torturing yourself consuming something without even having passion for it or enjoying yourself, then I agree. But again, this is where the ignorance from the creators and the fans come from. They don’t realize that some folks who are critical of the show are fans who WANT to see it get better and that’s why they’re providing criticism in the first place. People will make essay videos taking or ranting BECAUSE they have passion for it, that’s why so many people make critic blogs or even hate blogs towards Viv’s stuff because they’re passionate about it, and it’s a glaring issue today that the crew tries to roll any critic into the category of mindless trolls. Everyone has already said it before, but if you can’t take criticism and expect praise 24/7, then don’t become a show runner/creator, because that’s not how the real world works.

As for the audience, some are dropping the show, some are aware the show is flawed and are just staying to see where the trainwreck ends, some are still holding on to the hope that it’ll get better. All three decisions are valid so long as you have passion for it. For me I’ve lost all passion for this show, that’s why I’ll be dropping it after the Mammon episode because I can’t stick around any longer just to watch every character and concept get destroyed just to cater to two awful main characters and an awful romance, but I’m sure others will still be tuning in.

comparing Brother Bear with TBT since their Both movies about Brotherhood and also Brother Bear just Randomly popped into my head again today.

I've loved Brother Bear for years I think its a very underrated Disney movie with nice songs cute characters and a cute story.

and I randomly started thinking about it earlier and then started comparing it to TBT since their both strongly focused on Brotherhood.

and I realised that for some reason Brother Bear doesn't bother me as much as TBT does even tho it technically has many of the same faults.

it Rushes over the interesting character Drama and it Rushes a conclusion to said Drama between the Brothers at the end.

like the scene in the main film of Kenai confessing to Koda is still fairly sad but its massively undercut by having the song play over it.

the deleted version of that scene where the song doesn't play and we get to hear the full version of Kenai's confession and Koda's reaction is available on youtube and its way more heart-breaking imo.

which I guess is why they didn't go with that version since it would have maybe been a bit too much for young kids.

but the movie also employs the gimmick of having the brothers come back together in the end to fight off a life threatening enemy and all is seemingly forgiven between them straight away afterwards.

I guess one reason why BB doesn't bother me as much as TBT is that Kenai actually grows throughout the film despite wronging Koda in a massive way.

and Koda forgiving him too quickly in the ending is not as bothersome because we didn't see Kenai mistreat him the entire film up until the point he found out.

and he didn't then proceed to hurt him again in arguably just as bad a way as he did before like Bro zone did.

instead Kenai did grow in the film and he and Koda already had a healthy relationship prior to the reveal and later confession.

plus what they had throughout the film was genuine sibling banter it wasn't one sided like Bro zone's interactions were with Branch where it was basically just them treating him like a kid and not taking his Valid feelings seriously.

and when Kenai confesses to Koda he's a lot more openly remorseful and tries to go after him to make things right Bro zone just get a brief 4 second shot of them feeling bad and then the movie moves on.

not to mention the climax of BB involves Kenai making a sacrifice for Koda first off he puts his own life in danger in order to save him from his Brother Denahi. and at the very end he makes a big sacrifice ( staying as a Bear so he can stay with him even tho it means leaving behind his human life and not being able to openly communicate with his family )

which somewhat works as an act of love and redemption whereas the climax of TBT involves Bro zone being forced to work together in order to save their own lives as well as the life of the Bro who none of them wronged all that much tbh.

it doesn't really work as a first step towards them redeeming themselves and fixing their family because its kinda selfish and it didn't involve them really making any sort of personal sacrifice or even that much effort.

ya know its funny I just thought I'd make this post as a Random little thought since that's all this was I didn't actually expect to talk in depth and compare the movies stories this much lol.

I don't know if he has a valid reason for doing all this and if he does have one I don't give a fuck.

He is absolutely one to expect and demand loyalty from Mercy who HE feels carried him during a time when he literally had nowhere to go but underground. A very vulnerable time for him.

She hit him with the lobster mac, some good pussy and it was a wrap. She even put his needs before her son's (think back to him coming home from college and her basically telling him to buy a house.... shit was wild). She's actually IS loyal to him, honestly.

"This Wish" Re-write

Hello guys!!

First Rewrite of them all, and before I go into the rewrite, I need to state my problems with the song before I get into it.

Now with this out of the way, lets get into how this song failed to be a "I want song." If you want to watch another video on the problems with the song in more detail, I suggest you watch this video:

My Problem with the Song

So there are many problems with the song, and I'll break down every lyric since I can.

And I am not a professional song writer, I am just pointing out stuff that sounds off to me personally.

So for context...

At this point in the film, she is broken that the people of Rosas won't get all of their desires fulfilled. Mind you, as in all of my other rants on this stupid movie, Magnifico, the antagonist, can't AND SHOULDN'T grant all the wishes because there are obviously dangerous people who ask for dangerous things or people's desires are too vague to be granted. It is a valid reasoning to not grant them all because why should he? They can potentially cause harm to the people who gave up their wish or even the people of Rosas.

Back to Asha here, she ran out of the house after Sabino said he didn't want to hear his wish from her, which makes her angry and run out of the house. She is in tears then suddenly breaks into song.

That is were I have my first nick-pick, although it is slightly minor. She shouldn't suddenly break out into song unless she calms down afterwards. Where she is at this point of the song, she should have some strain in her voice since she legit was just crying a second ago.

Now we get our first line:

"Isn't truth supposed to set you free?"

This flows nicely with the music in the song and it does establish a good question...but they answer it with:

"Well, why do I feel so weighed down by it?"

Although you can say that the truth she is holding is "weighing her down," it breaks the rhythm that was set in the first lyric by cramming in a lot of words. How it should be, as a example:

"Then why am I so weighed down by it?

Its not a good example, since there is still strain and breaks rhythm still, but the strain isn't so bad as cramming in so many words into one line. Lyrics need to flow nicely with the music, and if you can't do that, then fix the lyrics until it sounds right.

The next lyrics I don't have a problem with:

"If I could show them everything I've seen Open their eyes to all the lies then Would they change their minds like I did?"

I still would say that there is still strain since it is cramming in more words than it needs to. But as I said, I don't have a big problem with it, minus that nick pick.

"But when I speak, they tell me, "Sit down" But how can I when I've already started runnin'?"

Okay, my next problem, which will be very noticeable in the next lyrics, is the use of But, Then, And. Its fine to have them in songs, including at the begining, but it should not be the driving force of the song or aka, BE USED SO MUCH. You can still use the words, just use it sparingly. Also, there is a lot of "slang" words, like the one right here: "runnin". In medival times, they would not say it like that. They would most likely say running, than runnin. And they don't know slang soooooo BE MORE ACURATEEEEEEE

"Oh, this is where we've been But it's not where we belong And I may be young, but I know I'm not wrong"

One thing I wanna say, is that she should basically say "oh everything I knew was wrong" instead of saying "I am not wrong". She just sounds like a hypocrite. Like, she firmly believes that her morals are right, rather than trying to look at Magnifico's perspective and try to understand him, which mind you, she does not do at all throughout the entire movie. Also, just remove And for the last lyric, it does not need to be there. It sounds better when it just says: I may be young, but I know I'm not wrong. Idk why it is there, when it didn't need to be there in the first place.

"So I look up at the stars to guide me And throw caution to every warning sign"

Some AI mess there, am I right? Alright, so she is throwing cation at the wind, or in her terms, she is being cautious at every warning sign, which is basically what warning signs do. They warn bystanders to ensure their safety and take the next steps carefully. Sooo what is she throwing cation at? The wind? This is legit so confusing like why would you have this in your song? If it doesn't make sense logically or even character wise, just don't have it in there, and try again and make it something else.

"If knowing what it could be is what drives me Then let me be the first to stand in line"

Sooo...what is it? Please tell us! We wanna know Wish Asha :3

"So I make this wish To have something more for us than this So I make this wish To have something more for us than this"

Thats...not what I meant.

So we all know this is a "I want song". So she should be saying what she wants, but what she wants is so vague. What do you want? Power? Freeing the wishes? Star Boy? Wait thats my wish woops This lyric is very vague. You can change it to: "I want something more for us than this", which sounds a lot better, and given the context to whatever you are writing, it can work. I dont have a problem with other people having this lyric in their songs, but for her character, shouldn't she say something that she wants?

"Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah, ah-ah More than this, oh-ah-ah-ah"

Hahah...VERY POPPY.

Its nice though, so I better give credit to where it is due.

"I never knew I needed room to grow"

Idk what to say here, it just sounds off, since she sounds like a idiot. Of course there will be room to grow, but I guess it was used for the viewer to relate to her more? Idk man...

" Yeah, I did what I was told when someone told me "no" "

"Now I've got all of this freedom in my bones But I've still got the lid on, so it doesn't overflow"

Again, you don't need to use slang words in your song, especially so when your character would not know these terms well. If your character is set in a specific era, miminize the slangs at least. I don't have a problem with it, I just dont want it to be overused.

" 'Cause I've got reservations and hesitations On where I should even begin"

I like this lyric! Just remove 'cause and it would flow nicely.

"I'm past dipping my toes in But I'm not, no, I'm not past diving in"

ehhhh...I have mixed feelings on this one....I know it is a medaphor, but she didn't need to repeat herself? I'm just saying...

"If I could just be pointed in any given direction On where to go and what to do"

The fact these lyrics that mimics Lin-Manuel Miranda sound better than the entire song is beyond me. I genuinely like this line! And it is weird feeling that way since I normally dread listening to it. But I guess putting my head in a new perspective and actually putting thought into the lyrics probably changed my opinion lol. Doesn't change my opinion on the song though.

"My legs are shaking, but my head's held high The way you always taught me to"

This is actually a really good line since it sounds heartbreaking. Putting it through her perspective, her father died when she was 12, and she is 17 in the film, I'd still imagine that she is, although trying not to show it, still grieving the loss of her father, and you can say she somewhat breaks here. Its really good and I really like it!

If only that we knew more of her father to understand her perspective more, other than he liked star gazing, but hey, what do I know?

She is somewhat saying the same thing from the pervious lyrics, so I'll speed run this:

"So I look up at the stars to guide me And throw caution to every warning sign"

Again, change it please. No need for it here.

'I'm sure there will be challenges that find me But I can take them on one at a time"

Something funny was that when I first listened to the song, I thought that the chorus was saying "Don't make this wish to have something more". It might be just me though.

So here is my last nick-pick. Why does she end on a solemn note? It doesn't fit at all, and breaks the way the song is played. Asha should have ended on a high note, like her voice is "reaching for the stars".

It also flows nicely with the instrumentals when it ends on a high note, so I don't know why she ends it on a sad note. It doesn't make sense, especially for her character.

So those are my problems with the lyrics. Sooo, why does it suck mainly?

Well she sounded selfish in context, especially when I watched the first time and on recent re-watch. It doesn't even help much when I barely know anything about her and what her goals and wants are, minus the "I want something more." But what more does she want? Power? Wishes? Stars? It doesn't make sense. She should at least state what she wants or her have a solemn moment of thinking: wait, I know what I want! Before she ends on her high note, it being what she really wants.

It also doesn't help when the song is just another copy of "God Help the Outcasts" from Hunchback of Notre Dome, but done worse. And something that really pissed me off, was when the writers said that "All disney princesses have something that THEY want and never a selfless want." (not accurate to what they said btw) And I was VERY pissed off when they said that, since it felt like a personal insult to Hunchback of Notre Dome, a movie I have HIGH respect for, for what it did and accoplished, and is one of my fav disney movies. They really insulted Esmeralda like that. HOW DARE YOU.

Okay first of all, we need to give Asha a better goal/wish than wanting something more, since it doesn't specify anything.

So what I would do, is her say what she wants.

Plus, the song doesn't have her process what just happened. So I want it to fix it to where she reflects as she puts on a newer perspective on the "truth's" they were told.

For context for my version of Asha, she is the adopted daughter of Amaya and Magnifico. You may think that it would be more difficult with a character that is in royalty that is supposed and should be siding with her people instead of her corrupted parents, but I dove into how that would work in my other rant here.

So Asha, in my version, is very less confident in herself. She also believes that the people are wrong for thinking the way they do about her parents (some of them think that way mind you). So when she finds out what her parents do to their wishes, her world view is legit crushed by this new revelation, and now she just...doesn't know what to do. Most of the people of Rosas hate her since she is "royalty". And she cant turn to her caretakers since they will tell her to just ignore it and move on. She is alone in a sense. She also knows very little about her real parent's, just knowing that her father used the stars for guidance and drove mad because of it. So with that perspective, she would try and reach for the stars (IK I KEEP REFRENCING THIS AU HELP) for help. She also normally does things alone, so it is more difficult for her to ask for help, even when she needs it.

Also, before she breaks into song, Valentino is there to comfort her as she process what happened to the wishes. She is crying with this new revelation, but Valentino wants to be there for her since he wants to make sure she is happy :3

Before we get into the actual song rewrite, I need to say this:

I AM NOT A PROFFESIONAL SONG WRITER. I just mainly did this for fun and fixed the things that mainly bugged me and to fit the context for my version of Asha. Plus, there is no right or wrong way for fixing the song! Just make it the way you want it to be percived by others, and have fun with it!

So what she is saying here is basically the same as the original, with slight changes. She now feels more pressured with the truth she now knows, and is very hesitant to actually say anything that would demine her caretaker's reputation. After all, "they took her in when no one else did" so why should she go against them? They don't deserve it now do they? I also wanted this to have more weight, like how the line started with "Why am I so weighed down by it" and she states what she is weighed down by. And what she means by "set them free" she thought that learning the truth of why the people of Rosas are miserable would make her change how she sees them view them, or to prove them wrong. And oh boy, she was wrong. I also wanna say that not everyone in Rosas thinks this way towards the royals. They are more fearful and more prone to do whatever they want. They also are like the king and queen, ignoring the problems and move on, but this time, if they cause problems, they can get in trouble.

This is how her parent's pass the problems the kingdom has. Ignore it, forget it, and move on. She was taught that way. And this also can be applied to how she was treated when she was younger. There is also a tone of fustration here since you can say she is still treated like this, like her voice of thoughts are just downplayed by some silly manipulation from her parents or that the citizens don't want to hear what she has to say since she is "royalty".

But the truth that we were told

Was not what we had thought

And all the teachings we were all taught

Was just all…wrong

This is mainly her processing what she was taught in a new perspective.

Although I don’t know how I should start this

She knows very little about her parents, other that one was a philosopher, both "abandoned her at the kingdom's doors", and that their way of thinking was wrong. Here, with the truths she knows, she is now wondering if her parent's ideologies were right, and if everything she knew from what her adoptive parent's told her, was wrong. She is here taking account for what she knew of what her biological parents did, and trying it for herself. I feel like some parts are a bit awkward and I wanna fix it I just don't know how yet. She is also slightly overthinking hehe. Plus no one in Rosas looks up at the sky to dream or wish anymore, hense why she says "I should at least try or no one will."

For starters, this was pretty fun to write! Second, this is her holding back on what she really wants. You'll see what she wants at the end of the song, but here, she just thinks that saying it from her head would work, instead of saying it from the heart.

Bet you weren't expecting the starts to talk to her quietly. No, she can't hear them, they're too far away, except for us ofc. And no, Aster/Star is not asking this, almost all of the wishing stars interested in helping her is questioning why she is holding back on her wish. And yes, I thought adding the chorus from the end should be here also so it would flow nicely with the music. It is also to fix the complaint: "where is the chorus coming from", so now it is coming from the stars and not in the air.

I feel like this is her flaw right her. She is backing out on the situation and wants to turn away, even though it will only make everything worse if she doesn't do anything about it. I also want to fix the upper part of the lyrics to imply what she means by false hopes and lies so the audience knows what she is talking about, I just donno how to execute it right now.

But I just can’t ignore this now

This isn't her overcoming her flaw btw, she just realizes that if she backs out, nothing will get better, and nothing will change. She is also quoting her parents there, where she wants to help her citizens, but they just tell her to turn away and ignore it. Plus, if she asks for help, she could loose everything: her caretakers, her friends, a roof over her head. All just for trying to do the right thing.

This is her now up for the challenge of making change, though, I would want her voice to be a little fearful, since she is going against everything her parents stood for.

Its similar to the previous one. Just that she is now saying "I want this:" in a sense. She still is holding back though.

The stars are telling her to actually take the risk of actually wishing for something rather than holding back on it. Their chorus is more quieter, since they heard her voice, just that, she is still holding back, which is making the stars feel like they can't help her situation until she actually wishes for real, so they start turning away ... except for one.

I would like the instruments to pause here, to take a breather if you will. Asha also says this here, since she realizes she isn't being honest with what she truly wants. So instead of saying what is on her mind, she is saying from her heart, which is how stars actually come down to help. Your wish has to be from the heart, not the mind, or something you think you want. They aren't genies. Asha throughout the song is just backing out and hense more hesitant until now. She is also looking at the stars at this point to wish upon! Can you guess who?

(It ends with a high note btw) And here she is saying what she really wants. It is still a selfless act, and she isn't saying for all the dreams to be granted, no, she wants the people to have a chance of pursuing their dreams before it is too late. I might change it later since it is somewhat awkward, but I think it is a nice note to end off for now.

I needed a couple of hours to sort through my thoughts about 7x04 - because I was busy screaming, crying, kicking my feet giggling - but now I just gotta say, before I dive into any details: I AM SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY.

As a bisexual myself who realized she‘s always been bi at the ripe age of 30 and after already being very married to the very male love of her life (which wasn’t at all changed by the realization), seeing bi characters having their ‚oh‘ moment later in life than in their teens is SO VALIDATING.

I love how yes, there have always been hints and it makes sense for the character but they actually gave Buck the space to find out this new thing about himself. They showed an adult man figuring this important part of his identity out when he was ready for it. Without it being induced by trauma or relationship troubles. That is so so so meaningful and so so so beautiful at the same time. I legit CRIED LIKE A BABY watching Buck‘s face go ‚oh I see‘ after the kiss. He just landed in his body as the penny of truth dropped and he seemed so content it made me squeek. I love seeing our golden retriever carving his place out in the world and discovering how to fully embrace all of himself.

And I love he gets to do it with Tommy.

Yes, I am a buddie shipper and that hasn‘t changed. However, whichever way the show moves now, bi Buck means the world to me. And the way they are telling the story with Tommy in a gentle, realistic way, I hope we get more of that. Hell I even really like their vibe together. Tommy seems like he‘ll be okay holding the hand of a baby queer and help him dip his toe into the water. Wherever that leads, it was a genius decision to introduce him to Buck‘s story.

Now for the details:

This episode wasn‘t only beautiful, it was also hilarious. THE TOP GUN REFERENCE HAD ME HOLLERING. At that point I knew some queerness was gonna happen because you don’t make the queerest reference in movie history without reason. Also absolutely loved the sewer conversation (hooray for Ravi by the way, I missed that little dude) and the emotions Buck goes through during the conversation.

Buck‘s jealousy is as stupid as it is adorable and I have to say I did find Eddie the slightest bit unfair. He knows Buck has abandonment issues and still doesn‘t register that he might need some reassurance. Yes okay, I get he wanted a little payback for the Nathalia ‚she sees me‘ bs, but come on, Eds, cut the poor man some slack.

The acting in the episode? Chef‘s kiss. Oliver was amazing, but I don‘t see Lou getting enough credit. He already planted his visible interest in Buck in 7x03 nicely in that one tiny interaction at the end and he really delivered on the flirty banter in this episode. Oliver, meanwhile, has done such a great job at showing the gradual change in Buck and the nervousness and the curiosity and hopefulness it tugged on all of my heartstrings. Deserving of an Emmy-nom. Great Job, loved every second.

Maddy and Chim very also amazing in the ep, especially Chim clocking immediately why Buck really brought him to basketball. It‘s gonna be interesting to see their reaction to Buck‘s truth - if he‘s ready to share it yet.

The only thing that bugged me was that Athena‘s storyline felt very rushed. I liked the theme and I think it hinted at important conversations, but it resolved the conflict too fast and too easy - making said issues seem smaller than they are. I struggle to believe that they would let a POC kid off the hook that easily. I wish this was realistic, but I doubt it is.

Bachelor call was great, loved gossipy Josh (by god, I want more Josh, I love that goofball) and Chim going full fanboy.

Can‘t wait for next week and hope we get more Hen and Bobby there! I missed them this ep.

I am so excited to see where Buck‘s story arch will go next. I‘ll explode with happiness if it slowly drifts towards buddie, but I won’t be mad if it doesn‘t happen or if it does happen and the show takes its time to get there. A slow buildup for this would be chef‘s kiss and I have a lot of trust in ABC and the writers that this is how they will do it, if Buddie happens.

All in all: Favorite episode of all the series for me, worthy 100th episode, will watch a billion times, made me all warm and fuzzy and giggly.

I see a lot of people saying they have typing quirks because of disability, that its a conflicting access needs issue, because of OCD, etc, and it makes me sigh a little because if it's a mental thing, they need psychiatric help for it (and before anyone says psychiatry as an institution is scary and evil; It can genuinely help people imo in the same vein as like. medication. Which people also fearmonger about but thats another rant) and in most internet spaces there's this thing called a "backspace bar" or "delete button" which is really awesome because you can use it to delete stuff that you might have accidentally typed or sent. Sometimes you can even edit it! Very fascinating indeed. There's no reason to push under the bus other disabled people. Typing quirks are literally from homestuck. Nobody used them before then unless you were doing illegal elite hacker shit.

mmm the thing is... I don't use typing quirks myself nor do I have OCD, so take this with a huge grain of salt (and of course I don't want to speak over people with OCD in any way!), but like... the way I understand how OCD works, a typing quick could be a legit compulsion for something, no?? and yeah, nobody used them before homestuck, but that's not a valid argument here imo, because you know, brains tend to latch onto things they see somewhere. So it could have developed into a compulsion for some people and they just learned it from homestuck.

However, I very much agree that text should be made accessible. so either one has to provide a translation (aka the same text as plaintext) or have a friend, mutual or headmate provide one. if you can't do that, maybe make the post later when you're able to either drop the typing quirk or have someone translate it.

I also agree that in most cases it's probably not a thing they literally can't drop, but more of a "dropping it would make me a bit uncomfortable"-thing and people are just stubborn about it.

(I am not commenting on the whole psychiatry thing btw cause then I would have to write half a book, because I have Thoughts and Opinions and I'm not in the mood for that rn)
